Jazz at the Savile Club – Jacqui Hicks

30/11/2012
19:30to22:30

I set up this thriving series of jazz evenings at the Savile Club in London’s West End with the virtuoso pianist Geoff Eales seven years ago now. It continues with an evening with the wonderful Jacqui Hicks. The Savile is a private members club, but if you would like to attend, do get in touch via my contact form.

a “Music” at Leighton House

11/06/2013
19:15to21:30

During the 1880s and 1890s, Leighton’s ‘musics’ as they became known were a high point of the London social and cultural calendar. They were effectively salons, combining music and art within a beautiful setting, namely Lord Leighton’s own studio on the edge of Holland Park in Kensington. I’m curating and presenting a present-day concert at Leighton House, inspired by the wonderful repertoire and great artists that took part in the ‘musics’ in Lord Leighton’s day. The excellent line-up features the soprano Julia Doyle singing Schubert, cellist David Watkin playing solo Bach, Juliet Edwards at the piano playing a couple of Brahms intermezzi, and myself doing a cameo on double bass… For more information, and to book tickets, click here . Leighton House Museum is at 12 Holland Park Road, London W14 8LZ.
